History
Surfacetech was formed in 1979 when Larry Polsky purchased a small top manufacturer in Kansas City, Mo. named Limpus Manufacturing. Officially incorporated as Surfacetech in 1986, the firm served the contract furniture industry primarily as an OEM manufacturer of laminate and veneer tops, as well as a powder coater of metal bases.
Polsky expanded Surfacetech in 1991 with the acquisition of Lamwood Manufacturing. The purchase led Surfacetech to become a national distributor of custom contract furniture.
Today Surfacetech stands as the contract furniture industry’s source for training and custom conference tables. With its plant still in Kansas City, Mo., Surfacetech manufactures veneer and laminate table tops with wood, vinyl and 3mm PVC edges. Bases for tables range from basic t, x and geometric shapes to more stylish and functional designs with the ability to store electrical as well as nest. Celebrating over 30 years in business, Surfacetech is a family-owned business that prides itself on finding the right solution for any table need.
